The first city is Pittsburgh. It is the 59th most populous city in the United States with just over 305,000 people in the 2010 census. It is where we live. When we drive through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, my children yell, "There's my city." I don't know of another city that creeps up on ya like Pittsburgh. Coming down 279 into the city, the city is a total surprise. Same way from the east through the Squirrel Hill tunnels or the South through the Fort Pitt tunnels. A love of Pittsburgh creeps up on ya like that as well. What you once thought was a post-industrial let down one day becomes a place you long to come home to. I'm guessing that my husband right now is thinking about all the things he loves about our city. But we'll wait to hear from him on that.

The second city is Shanghai.
It is surely the most populous city in China with 18,000,000 people. Pete is there now hopefully learning to love the birthplace of our two China sons. Secretly, I have not yet loved China. I don't clearly understand whether or not I'm a pawn in some Chinese late night TV show that explains how to get foreigners to fund the one child policy. I don't understand how a country makes policies that allow 4 average sized women care for 48 Toddlers but one larger sized woman not care for one toddler. When it comes to my love for China, it will probably come through my boys and I'm still planning for it's arrival. The opening of the second Maglev helps.
